Just before Christmas, I listened for the first time to the original "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens. The audio book was a freebie from my paid subscription to Audible.com. The reading was well done as the reader changed his voice to reflect the many different characters. I was once again amazed as to how much ground Dickens covered in such a short book. Also, I discerned that there were characters in the original book who never made it to screenplays such as the couple to whom Mr. Scrooge was a creditor.
Finally, the story behind the writing of "A Christmas Carol" can serve as an inspiration to us all. This story behind the story was featured in Reader's Digest in 1989 and can be accessed via the link, below.
